Dr. Fred Shane

Dr. Fred Shane is a veteran of the psychiatric wars.

“On reflection, I didn’t think the middle age was the beginning of my intellectual decline, but it was a gentle reminder that the candles on the cake were getting heavier than the cake. It was not as though this was the impetus for a middle aged crisis, but it touched upon certain issues. I decided to put pen to paper and write about some of my experiences as a psychiatrist as regards this period of life called middle age.”

He invites you into his therapeutic sanctuary where the angst of middle age unfolds.  You will share the work and the sensitivity of his approach to helping people “keep their Kool”, as they navigate their mid-life crisis.

The sessions are representative of the intense struggles such as E.D. (Erectile Dysfunction), porn on the net, Botox, Suicide, Abused Women, Aging   Parents, and Wayward Children.  It is all there! If you are approaching midlife, experiencing midlife or have been there, the universe of the middle age passages will resonate…

Dr. Shane is a Canadian psychiatrist who has written widely in psychiatric journals and national media.  He has appeared in New York on the Maury Povitch show discussing the Battered Wife Syndrome and the Oprah oxygen channel.
